Biography

Pianist, composer and conductor born in Naples, Italy, in 1987.
He has graduated with full marks in Piano (diploma and post graduate Master) and Composition at the Conservatoire “San Pietro a Majella” of Naples.

Subsequently, in 2014 he was admitted to a perfectioning course in orchestral conducting at the Academy “Incontri col Maestro” of Imola (Bologna, Italy) under M° Marco Boni’s guidance (honorary conductor of the Concertgebouw chamber orchestra).

He furthermore improved himself and deepen the operatic repertoire in occasion of courses and masterclasses with conductors Maurizio Arena, Bruno Aprea, Renato Palumbo and with pianists Richard Barker and Giulio Zappa.

He has worked as a repetiteur and assistant conductor in several opera houses and festivals in Italy, such as: Teatro Comunale Bologna, Teatro Regio di Parma, Festival Verdi 2016 and 2017, Teatro G. Verdi Busseto, Teatro Haydn Bolzano, Teatro Petruzzelli Bari, Napoli Teatro Festival and currently he is first pianist and repetiteur at Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania.

As a pianist he carries out a very busy concert activity as well as soloist as in different chamber music ensembles and in lyric concerts.

As a composer he deals prevalently with instrumental and vocal chamber music, but also with symphonic music and music for the theatre.
In 2014 he has obtained the “Premio Terenzio Gargiulo”, a special prize consisting in an annual scholarship, given each year to a single young composer of the Conservatoire of Naples.
He is the author of the music of “Richard III – da un’idea di William Shakespeare”, an Antonio Lepre’s play staged in Rome and in Naples between 2013 and 2014.
He obtained two first prizes and a third prize at the composition competition “A. Falconio”, a Rotary Club scolarship, in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In November 2014 his composition for wind orchestra based on Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa’s music, “Dialogo”, was performed on the occasion of the international conference about Gesualdo in Naples and in 2018 a CD has been released containing the recording of that venue (published by Edizioni San Pietro a Majella).

As a conductor he has already worked with youth orchestras like the Imola chamber orchestra, Orchestra “San Pietro a Majella” of Naples, Orchestra dei Solisti Siciliani, Orchestra Spazio Musica, Ensemble Strumentale “Lo Scrigno”. In 2016 he reached the semi-finals of the “International Conducting Competition for Opera Conductors” in Orvieto and in 2017 he has been selected to participate at the final stages of the “First International Conducting Competition” of the Opéra Royal Wallonie-Liège.
